Aphrodite Rubello - Director
I am the founder and Director of Riverdale Activity Centre and have always enjoyed being around children. I find being around children a learning and rewarding experience. I grew up on the Danforth, where I often babysat for neighbours and other families in the community. I initially worked as an executive assistant in the Training and Development department of a financial institution but after having my first child, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. That quickly changed and I started to look after friends and neighbours’ children. As a result, I opened and ran my own home-based daycare from 1995-2019. I noticed that the needs of the community were changing and grew more varied thus I opened RAC in 2019 and haven’t looked back!
Jennifer A. Murray – Supervisor
I am the creative and energetic force of Riverdale Activity Centre, involved in all aspects of the centre’s activities. I received my Early Childhood Education Diploma from Canadian Mothercraft Society and have previously worked as a RECE at George Brown College’s Douglas E. Light Childcare Centre and Queen Street Childcare Centre. I am an entrepreneur at heart and when not working at RAC I operate my own small business, the Wandering Bean Coffee Co.
Ksymena Liberatore – Administrator/ Supervisor
I manage the administration and operations at Riverdale Activity Centre and have always been passionate about education and working with children. I initially completed my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and later received my Bachelor of Education, specializing in the Primary and Junior division from Nipissing University. I have over fifteen years of experience working with children of all ages and particularly enjoy early childhood education as there is something so magical about the way children initially acquire knowledge and learn new skills. They are so full of wonder and curiosity and they teach us so much about life. I’m a mom of two young amazing boys, who bring me so much joy and keep me on my toes daily!
Tara Roberts - Early Learning Educator
I am currently the After School Program teacher at Riverdale Activity Centre. I grew up in a small town up North and I have
16 + years of experience working in the childcare field. I have a diploma in Child and Youth Work and have worked with children
of all ages, ranging from toddlers to school age. I like nature, music and crafts. One thing I love about working with children is
that I learn something new from them everyday and they remind me of how important it is to have fun. I believe that it is
important to build trusting and respectful relationships with children and role modelling this by having a safe and supportive
environment for everyone to learn and grow.
